LOP 70 St.Johns Point & Eire Sign

 St. Johns Point

Lookout Post No. 70 is to be located on a small hill on the road leading to the lighthouse at St John's Point. The road is now closed to unauthorised vehicles. It is an easy 1.5-kilometre walk from St John's Point Beach. The building is located 300 metres in front of St John's Lighthouse.
The associated Eire sign is to be located 100 metres in front of the lighthouse. It has already been extensively restored by local volunteers.

Muchros Head

Between lookout post No. 70 St. Johns Point and No. 71 Carrigan Head, the Muchros Head headland is located. During the Second World War, an additional Eire sign without a number was erected on the cliffs of this headland. The ground marker was recently restored by local residents.
