Baltimore Follow the field path at the end of Ballylinchy. Lookout post No. 29 is located in the wall of a 19th-century signal tower. Today, the post has collapsed onto the lower three layers of concrete blocks. The observation post was constructed using 136 prefabricated concrete blocks, which meant that the building could be erected in just a few days. From here, the coast guards of the Second World War Coast Guard Service reported all activity in the area in their logbooks. Today, the logbooks are available to the public on the Irish Defence Forces website militaryarchives.ie.
Near the lookout post, the Eire beacon number 29 was recently restored.
