Dunmore Head Close to Coumenoole Beach, the lookout post No. 38 is located on a hill next to the car park. The associated Eire sign is located on Great Blasket Island next to the ruins of a Napoleonic tower.
The building has similar proportions to a shipping container. In reference to this and Ireland's neutral role during the Second World War, the lookout post was transformed into a blue shipping container in this light projection. The blue colour and the symbolic letter N emphasise the symbolism of Ireland's neutral role in the Second World War. In addition, the interior structure of the container has been embedded in a rusty texture to reinforce its appearance as a shipping container.
