LOP 39 Sybil Head

Sybil Head At this headland on the west coast of the Dingle Peninsula, an existing signal tower was used by coast watchers during the Second World War. The tower is located near Ballyoughteragh North on a 200-metre-high mountain peak on the coast.
From this lookout post no. 38, the coast watchers observed the coast during the state of emergency. Most of them were locals who had volunteered for the coast watch. They recorded all activity in the area in their logbooks, but these were lost after the war.
