Spiddal This lookout post was located on a small hill to the right of the road leading from Cnoc An Glas in Bohoona East to the coast. Only the concrete foundation remains of the former lookout post No. 49.
Today, residential buildings and mature trees block the view of the coast. From here, the coast watchers had a view over the northern part of Galway Bay. During their observations, they wrote reports on activities at sea and in the air in logbooks. These logbooks are now publicly available on the Irish Defence Forces website militaryarchives.ie.
