Erris Head The lookout post No. 62 is located in the northern part of Belmullet Island. The building is situated on a hill in the northern part of the Erris Head Loop Walk. The post was visited together with Dr Michael Kennedy (picture). He wrote the book ‘Guarding Neutral Ireland’, which tells the Coast Watching Service and military intelligence, 1939–1945.
At dusk, the lookout post was illuminated with a painting by Harry Clarke. In addition, the broken edges of the building were gently highlighted with projection light to emphasise the concrete structure between the adapted illustrations.
